Every year, we like to take the team on a fun trip. For the past four years, we’ve been going to SEMA in Las Vegas. We’ve always had a good time there because we like to win free tools, and every year, we’ve won something amazing: OTC diagnostic tool, Hunter tire balancer, and CP power tools. Not to mention, Vegas is a fun location…there’s always a little something for everyone to enjoy in Vegas! However, this year, we wanted to do something different. With half the team following Formula 1, and the other half discovering it through the Netflix docuseries, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, it seemed like the best thing to do was watch a Formula 1 race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX.

Trackspec at Wekfest San Jose 2017, Featured on Speedhunters
One of our really good customers invited us to participate in a car show he helped created years ago. From a shop called Weksos Industries, no longer running but which primarily focused on the sale of aftermarket car accessories, evolved one of the biggest and most well-known car shows in the nation: Wekfest, which is now hosted all over the map, including Hawaii, Long Beach, Japan, Chicago, Seattle, New York, and of course, San Jose....
Trackspec's Memorable Moments of 2016
SEMA 2016
As always, SEMA did not disappoint this year. Like last year, we closed the shop two weekdays just to go. We also got a lot of questions about SEMA and I also saw a post on Facebook that said something like "Am I the only car enthusiast who doesn't care about SEMA?" So I realize that not everyone knows what SEMA is about (because if you have the slightest interest in cars, you should want to go). So before I get into the specifics of our trip, I thought I'd write a little more about the convention. But in summary, SEMA is so much fun because: 1) You get to be in Vegas during the week, 2) You get to talk and listen to industry leaders, vendors, celebrities 3) You get to grab or win free crap or buy cool tools with SEMA discounts, 4) You get to see beautiful and not-so-beautiful cars, and 5) Vegas buffets.
Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix
We know many new companies are always 100% focused on making money because, well, that's the point right? Also, startup costs can be huge. Our alignment & tire machine, tools, rent, insurance, payroll, taxes....it all adds up and survival in the Bay Area depends on being able to keep up. That said, we can't keep up with these expenses if we don't have happy customers. We don't have happy customers if we don't have a happy team. We know the heart of any service auto shop is in the mechanics. Therefore, we find it important that we take time out of our schedule to get together outside of the shop and have some fun. So we decided to close the shop Friday, April 29, rent an Airbnb in Monterey to BBQ and go out for dinner. Then, on Saturday, we went to Laguna Seca. Not for just another trackday with normal cars and normal people (haha)....but for the Continental Monterey Grand Prix!!

Team Trip to SEMA 2015
A couple days ago, Team Trackspec made a mini trip to Las Vegas forSEMA 2015. The event was huge! It started Tuesday, November 3 and ended Friday, November 6 this year, but we didn't want to close the shop the whole week, so we went for two days at the end of the week. We had such a blast. It was everyone's first time so we just winged it.
MFest My Life Tour 2015
Yesterday, Team Trackspec had a lot of fun at the MFest My Life Tour in College of Alameda. Our shop was one of the meetup locations for the caravan to the event and we had a great turnout. We met up at 7am, filled everyone up with coffee and then started the caravan. Met up with San Jose group on the freeway. We rolled in deep with about 15-20 beautiful cars repping our logo.

On October 13, 2014, we had our grand opening. All types of car enthusiasts showed up and we all had a great time. We had delicious pork belly baos and sliders catered by Konjoe Burger Bar, with some homemade lumpia and pancit.
